DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF WORK
RATE OF PAY: $15.00 per hour
MINIMUM AGE: 16 years of age.
HOURS OF WORK
10 to 20 hours per week
Monday - Friday, 4:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
Weekends - any shift between 8:00 a.m. & 10:00 p.m.
Duties And Responsibilities
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
An employee in this class performs a wide variety of duties related to the operation and maintenance of the Dearborn Ice Skating Center. The employee assists in the general maintenance of the Arena; enforces safety on the ice; must be willing to fill in at the Snack Bar; act as scorekeeper for hockey games; work in Pro Shop when needed. Work is performed under close supervision, however as the employee gains experience in Arena operations, the level of duties and responsibility increase.
Special Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
EXAMINATION PROCEDURE
Satisfactory completion of a criminal background, and sex offender registry check and a drug screen that tests for illegal drugs as defined by the Federal Drug Free Workplace Act but not those legalized under Michigan law prior to start date.

- Ability and willingness to perform routine tasks associated with the operation and maintenance of a municipal ice arena.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with other employees and the general public.
- Some mechanical ability.
- Ability and experience in scorekeeping hockey games.
- Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.
EXAMINATION PROCEDURE
- Applications will be reviewed.
- Qualified applicants will be scheduled for an interview.
