PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT: Dearborn Hills Golf Course
TYPICAL CLASS ESSENTIAL DUTIES: (These duties are a representative sample; position assignments may vary.)
- Supervises part-time staff to include: prioritizing and assigning work; coordinating staff training; and supporting personnel procedures.
- Orders chemicals, fertilizers, and other supplies to ensure maintenance of proper inventory levels.
- Prepares schedules for completion of watering, fertilizing, mowing, and other grounds tasks.
- Repairs and maintains irrigation, mowing, and related equipment.
- Maintains operations of a mini golf facility, including: repairing equipment; performing cleaning tasks; and performing related tasks.
- Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance, including attendance at required meetings.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Positions in this class typically require: climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Incumbents may be subjected to fumes, odors, dusts, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, intense noise, and environmental threats..
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Associate’s degree in Turf Management and 3 years of related experience; or, all required certification(s) and 3 years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
LICENSING REQUIREMENTS:
- Pesticide Applicator Certification
- Valid State of Michigan Driver’s License
POST-EMPLOYMENT OFFER REQUIREMENTS:
Satisfactory completion of background check and a pre-employment physical and drug screen that tests for illegal drugs as defined by the Federal Drug Free Workplace Act but not those legalized under Michigan law.
