Description
The City of Cypress Recreation and Community Services Department is seeking a highly-motivated and professional Recreation Specialist to plan, organize, implement and evaluate a comprehensive recreation program for the community.
Qualified applicants must be available to work the following schedules (20 hours per week).
Community Center:- ACUAF / Field Reservations – Monday – Friday, times vary including afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
Example of Duties
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Use registration software to manage athletic field permits and rentals for the City and School District sites.
- Organize and keep track of field permits for ACUAF groups.
- Manage and record athletic field rental schedules.
- Coordinate payment processes for lighting and field usage with ACUAF and rental groups.
- Assist in budget preparation.
- Provide general administrative and facility support.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.
- Ability to resolve conflict and diffuse difficult situations.
- Experience working with recreation software is preferred.
- Passionate about Recreation!
- Equivalent to one year of full-time experience in recreation, including experience working in a lead or supervisory capacity.
- 12 or more units of college-level coursework in a related field.
- Valid First Aid, CPR and AED certifications required.
