- Prepare onboarding materials for new hire orientations and update materials as needed.
- Assist with employee questions, send out employee communication emails, respond to verifications of employment.
- Assist department with organizing and maintaining personnel files and other HR records to ensure compliance with legal requirements
- Update job descriptions under the direction of the HR Generalist over compensation and benefits.
- Assist in HR Related research, collecting survey data and compile data for market surveys.
- Assists respond to verifications of employment.
- Prepare interview materials and job posting.
- Updates work instructions and standard operating procedures as requested.
- Prepares offer letters to potential candidate with a high level of accuracy.
- Scans employee documents into electronic personnel files.
- Assist with the coordination of the annual open enrollment processes.
- Conducts HR audits to ensure accuracy, consistency and compliance.
- Updates employee forms and employee resources as directed.
- Performs essential position duties and responsibilities under the working conductions and physical demands described herein.
- Attendance during regularly scheduled work hours and outside regular hours as necessary.
- Effective and respectful communication and interactions with other employees, supervisors, individuals from other organizations, and citizen customers.
- Will assist with updating electronic employee files to include employee numbers and enhance file structure.
- Performs other related functions as apparent or delegated.
- Assist with a variety of special projects to improve human resources efficiencies and employee services.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Pint & Adobe.
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Organize and coordinate various assignments and establish priorities to effectively work to meet deadlines with supervision.
- Promote a cooperative atmosphere in the department and exhibits a positive attitude.
- English, spelling, grammar, punctuation and vocabulary.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi task and stay organized.

Working towards a degree in human resources or obtained degree and working towards gaining practical human resources experience.
- Proven skills in producing accurate work, strong administrative support skills necessary to create documents and employee resources.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365
- Ability to use Adobe products includes document manipulation.
PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Familiarity with municipal government operations
- Familiarity with HRIS (Human Resources Information System)
- Knowledge of US and MN labor laws
- Other paid or volunteer experience in an office setting
- Proficiency in complex Excel formulations.
