What are the responsibilities and job description for the ASSISTANT PLANNER position at City of Conway, SC?
The City of Conway is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Planner. This position performs complex and specialized planning work related to current and long-range planning, provides support to the Planning & Development Department, maintains records, prepares data, and responds to public inquiries. The Assistant Planner will provide staff support for the Planning Commission, Community Appearance Board, Tree Board and other meetings/boards as needed. This position will also assist in reviewing various plan submittals and zoning permit applications and will perform additional tasks as needed to ensure timely responses Work is performed under the general supervision of the Principal Planner and the Planning & Development Director.
Experience and Training: Bachelor’s Degree in Planning or related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Special Qualifications: Possession of AICP certification or ability to obtain AICP certification, is preferred.
Entry-level pay for this position is $52,442.00 annually.
