The YES Leadership and Mentoring Program has been designed to enhance the self-confidence, skills, knowledge, and abilities of Commerce youth by providing meaningful and rewarding experiences through training, resources, mentoring and education in a structured work setting.
All qualified applications will be entered into a Lottery process. Seventy-five (75) applicants will be selected to participate in the 2026 program.
**APPLICANTS MUST BE COMMERCE RESIDENTS, AND BE AVAILABLE TO COMPLETE 100 HOURS, FROM JUNE 29, 2026 THROUGH SEPTEMBER 6, 2026. PROGRAM PARTICIPATION IS LIMITED TO A TOTAL OF TWO SUMMERS. IF HIRED, YOU MUST BE ABLE TO ATTEND A MANDATORY ORIENTATION MEETING TO BE HELD IN JUNE 10, 2026, IN THE CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS.

May assist in conducting youth recreation activities; organize and clean work areas; clean alleys, medians and park areas; operate computer, typewriter, copier machine and other office equipment; assist with data collection and research for projects; assist with preparation of reports; attend meetings/seminars regarding City activities; assist with City Council/Commission presentations; performs related duties as required.
