Job Description Summary
The purpose of this job is to provide engineering services and support. Surveys and research site conditions for infrastructure, utilities, landscaping, transportation, and other related city construction projects. Performs drafting work in AutoCAD, conducts fieldwork, and reviews plats and easements to ensure compliance with city regulations. Maintains spatial data in GIS.

- Prepares and reviews drawings, diagrams, 3D renderings, maps, and construction plans for designs and projects; calculates estimates and specifications.
- Integrates, implements, and manages GIS data and creates GIS tools.
- Provides customer service for applications and construction projects.
- Prepares and maintains reports.
- Produces work orders in AutoCAD and/performs surveying work as necessary.
- Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent. Associate's Degree in construction management, engineering technology, or similar field preferred.
- 1 to 3 years of related experience.
Licenses or Certifications
- Valid driver's license.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities which may be representative, but not all-inclusive of those commonly associated with this position
Knowledge of:
- Principles, practices, and methods of civil engineering, including such specialties as land surveying and mapping, hydraulics, structures, hydrology, construction, roadway design, and engineering technology.
- Standard practices, methods, materials, tools, and equipment of building trades.
- Algebra, geometry, calculus, and engineering formulas.
Skill in:
- Estimating time and materials needed to complete jobs.
- Communicating verbally and in writing to meet the needs of the audience.
- Collecting, organizing, and analyzing complex and/or technical data.
- Utilizing engineering and GIS software.
- Utilizing AutoCAD, and or Civil 3D.

- Work from blueprints, plans, and sketches.

- Exercise independent judgment when ensuring compliance with relevant land disturbance and utility construction codes and legal regulations.
