Equipment Operator I - Colorado Springs Airport
About the Job: The Colorado Springs Airport is ready to welcome an Equipment Operator I to their Airfield Maintenance team! As an Equipment Operator I, you will perform construction, maintenance, and repair tasks for the Airfield Maintenance Division of the Airport .
Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday - Friday; 8-hour shifts. Opportunity for overtime and occasional night work depending on project deadlines and operational requirements. Subject to on-call, emergency call-out, and seasonal duties such as 12-hour rotating shifts for snow removal procedures when necessary.
The selected candidate must pass (or have already passed) a fingerprint-based criminal history records check as required by the Transportation Security Administration.

As an Equipment Operator I, you will:
- Perform manual labor such as mowing, erosion control, snow removal, and fence repair
- Perform airfield and landside painting
- Maintain, repair, and replace concrete/asphalt surfaces and drainage systems
- Operate mowing, light construction, and airfield snow removal equipment
- Ensure all work is performed according to applicable safety regulations
- Perform general grounds maintenance
- Perform general maintenance and repairs of equipment
- Other duties as assigned

Knowledge of:
- Practices, methods, and materials used in grounds maintenance
- Occupational hazards and standard safety practices
- And experience with all types of concrete repair and replacement
- And experience with all types of asphalt repair and replacement
- Safely operate assigned vehicle, machinery, and equipment
- Learn pertinent FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) airfield regulations
- Adhere to Airport and FAA safety standards
- Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade (high school diploma or GED)
- One year of full-time, professional experience in related field
- Possess, or obtain upon hire, and maintain a valid, non-probationary Colorado driver’s license not subject to restrictions
- Possess or obtain within 12 months of start date, a valid non-probationary Colorado Class B CDL not subject to restrictions is required for this position

Physical Demands: Exerting 20-50 lbs. occasionally; 10-25 lbs. frequently; or up to 10 lbs. constantly.
