Deputy I - Circuit Court: Provides operational and clerical support to the Clerk of Circuit Court.
Examples of Duties
- Organizes and processes criminal files and orders.
- Develops, distributes, and files correspondence, reports, and other documents.
- Processes payments and issues licenses, permits, and certificates.
- Performs record searches.
- Records and indexes land records.
- Updates and maintains databases and other files.
- Maintains jury management system.
- Collects and processes mail.
- Addresses public and professional inquiries.
- Other duties as required.
Education & Experience
- High School diploma with at least (5) years years directly related experience or Associate's Degree and less than (2) years directly related experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
- General knowledge of administrative practices, procedures, and equipment.
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, with frequent interruptions while remaining organized and accurate.
- Strong customer service skills; and ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing; walking over rough or difficult surfaces; recurring stooping, climbing or walking; recurring lifting of moderately heavy items weighing less than 25 pounds and may require occasional lifting of objects weighing in excess of 25 pounds. The work may require specific, but common physical characteristics and abilities such as mobility and dexterity.
The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts, which require normal safety precautions. Use of safe work practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, observance of fire regulations and traffic signals are minimally required.
