Responsibilities

• Conduct patrols of assigned areas to deter crime and ensure public safety using standard passenger cars.
• Respond promptly to emergency calls, accidents, and incidents, providing first aid and support as needed.
• Enforce traffic laws, local ordinances, and criminal laws through citations, warnings, or arrests following proper procedures.
• Assist in criminal investigations by gathering evidence, conducting searches, and documenting findings through detailed report writing.
• Manage conflict situations with professionalism, utilizing conflict management techniques and use of force training when necessary.
• Engage in surveillance activities to monitor suspicious behavior or criminal activity discreetly and effectively.
• Handle evidence law procedures and search and seizure laws accurately during investigations.
• Support community engagement initiatives by providing information on crime prevention and safety tips.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; some background in criminal justice or law enforcement is preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid Tennessee driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Demonstrated knowledge of traffic laws, criminal law, procedural law, evidence law, and criminal procedure.
• Physical conditioning sufficient to meet job demands including patrols on foot or in vehicle; ability to handle firearms safely in law enforcement scenarios.
• Certification or training in CPR required within 1 year of employment.
• Strong communication skills for report writing, evidence documentation, and community interaction.
• Experience or training related to criminal investigation techniques, search and seizure law, immigration law, animal handling, loss prevention, security practices, or animal care is beneficial.
• Ability to handle stressful situations calmly while demonstrating leadership qualities and sound judgment.

Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
