The Office of Councilmember Ryan James is seeking an energetic, organized, and mission-driven Chief of Staff to help lead a fast-paced City Council office.
This is a unique opportunity to help shape public policy, build community partnerships, manage communications, and oversee the day-to-day operations of one of Cincinnati's newest Council offices. You'll work directly with the Councilmember and have meaningful responsibility from day one.
- Lead the day-to-day operations and strategy of the Council office.
- Manage projects, priorities, calendars, and deadlines.
- Oversee communications, including media relations, social media, and messaging.
- Advance the Councilmember's legislative and policy agenda.
- Build relationships with neighborhood leaders, nonprofits, businesses, and government partners.
- Represent the Councilmember at meetings and community events.
- Foster a culture of professionalism, accountability, and exceptional constituent service.

This position operates on a four-day workweek, with Fridays regularly off.
Candidates should also expect:
- Approximately 8–10 evening meetings or events per month.
- Approximately two pre-scheduled weekend community events each month (about one every other weekend).
