About this Opportunity
Supervises the ROW Development and Permit Technician team to ensure compliance and consistency for construction activities in the proposed and existing Right of Way.

Position Functions
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervises and reviews work of assigned staff; provides technical guidance for inspections
- Investigates and resolves complaints from contractors and the public; researches and responds to public inquiries
- Coordinates inspections, testing needs, and construction projects with City Departments
- Conducts preconstruction meetings, prepare meetings, and attends prefinal walkthroughs
- Meets with stakeholders as needed to support projects and promote consistency between field technicians.
- Coordinate work with private development utilities and work through communication and process improvement with utility stakeholders.
- Oversee the documentation collection of the field technicians for consistency, completeness, and timeliness
- Enforces compliance with City Ordinances; Especially Chapter 9A
- Review material submittals for general specification submittal
- Support Field Technicians to enforce MUTCD Standards and public safety interests
- Present updates at meetings as requested
- Performs related work as required.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
- High School diploma or equivalency and
- 3 to 5 years of experience in construction management, construction inspection, or construction coordination or
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a supervisory role or
- An equivalent combination of education and/or experience
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse population
- Valid U.S. Driver’s License
- Iowa DOT Erosion Control Basics within 6 months
- ATSSA Traffic Control Supervisor within 6 months
- Previous supervisory experience
