As one of the first people visitors see when they arrive, Front Desk Attendants play an important role in helping guests feel informed, supported, and excited to enjoy the facility. What You’ll Do
A typical day includes greeting customers, answering questions, and helping visitors navigate the facility and its programs. Staff assist with admissions, activity registrations, and cashiering duties while learning proper cash handling procedures and front desk operations.
Because the front desk is a fast paced environment, employees regularly assist multiple customers at once, respond to questions or concerns, and manage a variety of tasks throughout their shift. Staff also help maintain a clean and professional front desk area, follow safety procedures, and ensure guests have a safe and enjoyable experience at the Recreation Center and Aquatic Center.

Schedule and Hours
This part time position typically works 20 to 30 hours per week after training. Shifts may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.

REPORTING STRUCTURE:Receives direction from higher level Parks and Recreation supervisory and management staff.
Typical Class Essential Duties
2. General oversight of participants to ensure participant safety and compliance with appropriate policies and general information about the facility and/or events.
3. Opens and close facilities as assigned and conduct walkthroughs for participant counts as needed.
4. Assists with basic receptionist and clerical work including recordkeeping.
5. Prepares and serves food such as popcorn, hotdogs, pretzels, and fountain sodas using standard formulas or following directions as assigned.
6. Stocks supplies such as food or retail sales inventory in a safe and efficient manner.
7. Maintains clean and orderly cashier station and performs routine cleaning tasks as assigned.
8. Represents the City of Casper by responding to the public, citizens, its employees, and others in a prompt, professional, and courteous manner while continuously maintaining a positive customer service demeanor.
9. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.

Training, Experience & Certifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) preferred.
- First Aid/CPR preferred.
- Six months experience in a public setting providing customer service preferred.
- Must be at least 16 years of age, preferably 18 years of age or older.

As a condition of employment, the successful candidate must utilize direct deposit for payroll purposes.
Driving records are required for all new employees regardless of the position's driving requirements. If the employee has not held a Wyoming driver's license for the last three years, the employee must provide at their own initiation and expense a driving record from their previous state(s) of residence.
Physical and Environmental Conditions:
City of Casper employees in data creation and modification, security sensitive or safety and protective positions are subject to pre-employment drug testing. Some employees may be subject to random drug testing if their responsibilities include:
- Emergency response/rescue
- Handling or working with hazardous materials, including chemicals as well as solid and liquid waste
- Operating or maintaining water and wastewater systems
- Writing or modifying code, maintaining or modifying City data systems including work on networks, servers, and communication systems
- CDL operations and driving
- Operating power-driven machinery or equipment
- Creating or modifying health, financial, security and or risk documents or assessments

Positions in this class typically require: stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work.
Incumbents in this position work indoors in a front desk/counter environment and are subject to the common noises associated with a front counter/customer service/office work including telephones, copiers, and printers. The position requires frequent sitting, typing, and customer contact, both by telephone and in person.
