Seasonal Golf Maintenance Worker

The City of Carthage is accepting applications for a Seasonal Golf Maintenance Worker to assist with daily maintenance and upkeep of the municipal golf course.

Pay Rate

• Starting pay: $15.45 per hour
• Non-exempt, seasonal position

Position Summary

This position performs manual and semi-skilled work in a variety of golf course maintenance and construction activities. Duties include grounds maintenance, landscaping, mowing, minor repairs, and operation of maintenance equipment. Work is performed outdoors in varying weather conditions and is supervised by the Golf Maintenance Supervisor.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Mow grass, trim weeds, and maintain landscaped areas
• Maintain and improve golf course grounds, including trees and cart paths
• Perform general labor such as picking up and hauling debris
• Operate tools and equipment including mowers, tractors, trucks, and other maintenance machinery
• Assist with minor repairs to buildings, equipment, and plumbing
• Perform related work as assigned to support golf course operations

Qualifications

• High school diploma or high school equivalency (HSE) preferred
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
• Ability to work effectively with coworkers and the general public
• Willingness to learn new tasks as job duties evolve

Licenses & Requirements

• Possession of or ability to obtain and maintain a Missouri Class E driver’s license
• Must be physically capable of lifting up to 75 pounds and performing manual labor
• Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions
• Must be able to work weekends and holidays as required

Work Schedule

• Typical hours: 6:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday
• Weekends and holidays are required
• Seasonal overtime may be required in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act
