What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part Time Seasonal Parks Maintenance Worker position at City of Canyon TX?
SUMMARY: Responsibility to carry out day to day operations of the Parks Department including but not limited to park, pavilion, baseball field, and athletic complex maintenance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES .Will be working with mow crew, paint crew, or baseball crew. Weed eating, Edging, baseball field maintenance and prep, some carpenter and welding, irrigation installing and repair, pavilion cleaning, swimming pool maintenance, trash removal, painting and unexpected duties in the parks department.
Hours: Maximum of 30-40 hrs. weekly. Summer employment March 1 thru September 25.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must possess a Class A, B or C driver's license with good driving record. Commercial license a plus
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Must be 18 yrs of age or older.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Foreign language a plus
REASONING ABILITY: Must be able to take matters in their own hands and make the right decision for the situation according to the rules and safety guidelines.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS: commercial Drivers license and any applicators license a plus.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to work outside all day in cold and heat. Ability to work weekends at times. Canyon residency will be a plus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Must be willing to work with and under direction of park maintenance employees.
