As a Natural Resources Technician, you will assist with the planning, administration, and implementation of Natural Resources programs focused on the management of water resources, upland habitat, wildlife, and environmental outreach and education. In this role, you will help protect and enhance the City's natural resources while collaborating with staff, residents, and community partners. The collaborative activities of the Natural Resources staff with their team, across departments, and with local partners, community members, and businesses impact lives daily by providing healthy, accessible natural areas, promoting environmentally friendly and sustainable practices, and preserving and protecting the City's natural resources.

This role is non-exempt and has a starting salary of $86,195.20/annually. This position is open until filled. Applications received by August 2, 2026, will receive first consideration. Miniumum Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, environmental studies, or a related natural resources field; or an equivalent combination of training and education to perform the work.
  • Two years of experience in water resources and lake management required.
  • Experience using GIS-based software.
  • Ability to present to citizen groups and City commissions.
  • Experience and interest in habitat and wildlife management preferred.
  • Experience with wetland conservation requirements preferred.
  • Local government experience preferred.
  • Must have a valid Minnesota driver’s license or the ability to obtain one.
