Park Manager
City of Bridgman, Michigan
Full-Time | Year-Round
Salary: $48,000-58,000 DOQ
The City of Bridgman is seeking an organized, customer-focused Park Manager to oversee daily operations of its park system, including the public parks, campground, public beach, concessions, and Weko Beach House events. This position plays a key leadership role in maintaining high-quality recreational facilities and experiences for residents and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of the public parks, campground, public beach, and park facilities
- Hire, train, supervise, evaluate and schedule seasonal staff
- Oversee concession operations, including inventory and customer service
- Coordinate events and facility rentals at the Weko Beach House
- Ensure parks and facilities are clean, safe, and well-maintained
- Enforce park rules and safety standards
- Assist with budgeting, purchasing, inventory, and operational reporting
- Respond professionally to visitor questions, concerns, and service requests
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Parks & Recreation, Public Administration, or a related field preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in park operations, recreation management, hospitality, or a related field
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and customer service skills
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Must obtain ServSafe Certification in 1 year of employment
- Must obtain First Aid and CPR Certification in 1 year of employment
- Valid Michigan driver’s license
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Frequent walking, standing, and light manual labor
Schedule Expectations
· This position requires a flexible work schedule to support park operations and seasonal demands. During peak season (May through October), weekend and evening hours are required to ensure adequate coverage and supervision of park facilities, events, and staff.
· During the off-season (October through March), scheduled hours may be reduced based on operational needs. Flexibility is expected, with the understanding that workload and hours will vary throughout the year.
