Seasonal Part Time - STAFF ASSISTANT - COMMUNITY EVENTS
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists with the implementation of special events, art programs, concerts, outdoor movies and use of facilities/park sites under the general direction of a full-time staff member. Supervise program/event operations while interpreting and enforcing rules and policies for the Parks and Recreation Department. Fosters good public relations. Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
High School education or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Some college education is preferred.
EXPERIENCE/SPECIAL SKILLS:
Incumbent should possess some working knowledge of event implementation. Some experience working with sound equipment is helpful. Must have previous experience working with the public and have the ability to communicate effectively. Ability to work independently and make quick decisions.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:
CPR and First Aid or ability to obtain, valid driver's license required.
HOURS:
Part-time hours including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Most events will take place Thursday through Saturday. Must be able to work flexible hours.
SALARY:
$17.49 per hour
