The City of Billings is seeking an Airport Construction Coordinator to be responsible for problem solving, customer service, logistical, and operational issues during airport construction; and provide information and assistance to the traveling public. This position must also support various airport departments and supervisors during periods of time when construction coordination is not needed.
Salary Range: $20.3914 - $22.4894 per hour. Salary reflects Step 1 and Step 3 of a 7-step pay scale. The salary will be dependent on the applicant's education, experience, and training.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Coordinates with airlines to ensure continuity of operations throughout all phases of construction.
- Promotes positive passenger experience by minimizing confusion and disruption during construction activities.
- Prioritize safety and security in all operational decisions and activities.
- Collaborates with airport concessions to maintain uninterrupted services during construction.
- Partners with airport staff to optimize operational continuity and efficiency.
- Works closely with TSA to maintain compliance and continuity of security operations during construction.
- Maintains flexible availability based on construction phases and operational needs.
- Actively participates in pre-construction, construction, and post-construction meetings.
- Develops and maintains knowledge of Part 77 regulations related to aeronautical obstructions; ensure ongoing compliance.
- Operates vehicles in both movement and non-movement areas in accordance with airport regulations.
- Prepares and drafts correspondence, NOTAMs, and recommendations for airport leadership.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must possess a valid Montana driver's license or obtain one within 30 days of hire. A clean driving record must be maintained throughout employment.
- Strong understanding of travel industry concepts, with a focus on air travel and airport operations.
- Ability to enter data into a computer.
- Ability to read and interpret complex airport regulations and construction documents. Construction projects include the airport terminal, movement areas, non-movement areas, stormwater drainage facilities, parking lots, parking garages, runways, and all other airport projects.
- Willingness to support various airport departments and supervisors during periods when construction coordination is not required.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize safety in all operational decisions.
- A self-starter capable of thinking critically and independently to resolve issues under pressure.
- Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Must successfully pass pre-employment drug screening, as well as State and Federal background checks.
- Ability to meet and maintain all airport security requirements.
- Position is subject to random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with safety protocols.
- Associate or bachelor's degree in construction or related field preferred.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations.
- Industry certifications such as Airport Certified Employee (ACE), or Certified Member (CM).
