What are the responsibilities and job description for the Systems Administrator position at City of Beloit?
The Systems Administrator provides high-level technical support that focuses on the development and implementation of server-related systems, both physical and virtual; performing application engineering and/or administration; selecting, installing, and troubleshooting enterprise hardware/software products and providing necessary training. Other duties may be assigned.
- An Associate’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical/computer field is preferred.
- Possession of a current driver's license and satisfactory driving record or otherwise be able to meet the transportation requirements of the position.
- Minimum of five (5) years experience in a professional IT work environment.
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP) level of certification or the ability to obtain certification within two (2) years of hire.
- Other combinations of training and/or experience which can be demonstrated to result in the possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the duties of this position will also be considered.
