General Description and Classification Standards:
Provides direct operational and administrative support to the Office of the Commissioner. Executes and
coordinates high-priority projects impacting the Department of Watershed Management, with an
emphasis on cross-departmental collaboration, executive-level reporting, and organizational readiness.
Works closely with the Business Manager and executive staff to ensure alignment of special initiatives
with the department’s strategic goals.

Supervision Received:
Reports directly to the Business Manager in the Office of the Commissioner, with guidance and
direction provided by the Commissioner and Assistant Commissioners as necessary.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides project management and administrative support for special projects directed by the
Commissioner’s Office.
  • Coordinates executive-level initiatives such as command center buildouts, relocations, workforce
planning, and World Stage readiness projects.
  • Assists with drafting executive memos, briefings, and reports to support decision-making.
  • Tracks deliverables and progress on high-priority initiatives, escalating issues and risks to leadership.
  • Conducts organizational research and analysis to support executive decision-making.
  • Coordinates with internal and external stakeholders, including contractors, vendors, and City
leadership.
  • Provides communications support, including preparing presentation materials, briefing binders, and
one-page summaries.
  • Manages logistics for executive and departmental events, meetings, and engagements.
  • Serves as a liaison between the Business Manager, Commissioner’s Office, and other divisions to
ensure seamless information flow.

simultaneously.

  • Knowledge of City operations, procurement processes, and interdepartmental functions.
  • Demonstrated skill in stakeholder engagement, collaboration, and problem-solving.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion while working with sensitive executive-level
information.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Experience – Bachelor’s degree; and two (2) years of related experience is
required.

Licensures and Certifications - Valid Georgia driver’s license.

Preferred Requirements – None.

Work Environment:
Required physical, lifting, and sensory capabilities are requirements to perform the job
successfully. Typical environmental conditions associated with job.

Lifting Requirements:
Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force to
move objects.

Work Schedule:
This position follows the City’s hybrid work schedule policy as assigned by the Department of Human Resources Commissioner and requires in-person work at City worksites/facilities at least four (4) days per week, with the option to work remotely one (1) day per week, based on eligibility, departmental needs, and supervisor approval. The hybrid work schedule is subject to change at any time to five (5) days in-person work.
