This is a full-time, on-site role for a City Attorney based in Asheboro, NC. The City Attorney will provide comprehensive legal counsel to city officials, employees, and departments and represent the city in legal matters. Responsibilities include conducting legal research, preparing legal documents, offering advice on labor and employment law, attending council meetings, and negotiating contracts and agreements on behalf of the city.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in Law, including municipal and governmental law
- Proficiency in Labor and Employment Law, including legal compliance and policies
- Strong skills in Legal Advice and the ability to provide sound guidance to city officials and departments
- Expertise in Research and the ability to analyze legal matters thoroughly
- Effective Negotiation skills for contracts, agreements, and legal resolutions
- Licensed to practice law in the state of North Carolina
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders
- Experience with public sector or municipal law is preferred but not required
