Seasonal Recreation Program Coordinator

Under the supervision of the Recreation Supervisor, the Recreation Program Coordinator will assist with the coordination of a full-day summer camp for youth. 

• Assist Supervisor to coordinate and lead the implementation of a variety of youth recreational opportunities ensuring safety and quality experiences for participants.
• Coordinate and supervise youth summer camp, activities, playground program, and trips. 
• Correspondence with parents, transportation companies, and trip destination businesses.
• Staff training, supervision, and scheduling.
• Provide exceptional customer service, including communication both verbally and in writing. 
• Coordinate facility/outdoor space schedules.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience working in municipal recreation, education or with youth camps or similar.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Must be able to provide own transportation.
• Must have a valid driver’s license. 

PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in in Recreation, Parks & Recreation, Parks & Leisure Services or two (2) years of study in post-secondary related curriculum. 
• Experience working with Recreation Software and Microsoft Office Programs

WORKING CONDITION AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to bend, stoop, twist, lift and grip.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds

Seasonal position, 40 hours per week. Hours include weekdays and can range between 7:30 a.m.  - 5:30 p.m.
Approximate start date: No later than May 14, 2026.
Approximate end date:  No later than August 25, 2026. 
This position will mainly work out of the Johnny Cake Activity Center and the Apple Valley Community Center
