Reserve Officers are integral to the operations of the Apache Junction
Police Department, providing essential support to the Patrol division.
These volunteer officers work alongside our full-time staff, improving
efficiency and contributing to the department\'s overall mission.
## Essential Duties
Reserve Officer Functions
Must be 21 or more years old. Current AZPOST certified or attending an
Arizona law enforcement academy. Out-of-state certified officers will be
reviewed on a\
case-by-case basis.\

## Essential Duties
Reserve Officer Functions
- Proactive patrol
- Assist with traffic control on police scenes and during events
- Participate in police-related community events
- Assist in routine tasks around the department
- Requirements for this role include:**\
- Ability to lift 30-50 pounds
- Must be AZPOST certified
- Must complete FTO within the Apache Junction Police Department
- Ability to communicate clearly through police radios
- Ability to take direction and adhere to chain of command during
- Reservesin this unit must:**\
- Possess a valid drivers license
- Follow oral and written instructions accurately
- Possess strong communication skills, both oral and written
- Attend required meetings and trainings
