GENERAL SUMMARY
Directs, supervises, and oversees professional and technical personnel in the City's planning, zoning, engineering, and construction development areas. Works with Administration to formulate and develop policies and procedures to support future projects and initiatives.  Interprets and recommends amendments to city codes and ordinances and ensures compliance with rules and regulations.  Supports contractors, developers, and the public in the management of projects.  Prepares, maintains, and monitors the division budget.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supervises the work of assigned personnel, including assigning and reviewing work, providing guidance, and conducting performance evaluations.
• Reads, reviews, and interprets codes and ordinances to ensure accurate representation.
• Represents the City on boards and commissions; Provides support to the Zoning Board and Zoning Board of Adjustments and Appeals.  Reviews packets in preparation for meetings; researches codes, ordinances, policies, and procedures
• Coordinates meetings with developers, contractors, real estate agents, and other City employees to discuss future developments within the City.
• Researches zoning districts and codes to properly inform customers of options moving forward on projects.
• Acts as liaison for customers to other City departments.
• Performs related work as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Public Administration, Urban Planning, Architecture or Design, or a related field
• Eight (8) years of progressively responsible management experience in planning, development, and zoning (preferred).  
• Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities
