Experience Requirement
Experience and/or training of sufficient scope and quality to competently perform the journey-level skills and duties of a Plumber.
This experience must demonstrate skill in installing, maintaining, and repairing water, gas, sewer, and drainage systems and accessory fittings in buildings and related structures, and the ability to plan and lay out plumbing work independently.
License Requirement

What You Will Do
- Install, maintain, and repair water, sewer, gas, drainage, and plumbing systems in City buildings, park facilities, and related infrastructure.
- Perform skilled plumbing work on fixtures such as water heaters, pumps, coolers, toilets, sinks, urinals, rain gutters, downspouts, and irrigation systems.
- Conduct preventive maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure systems are safe, functional, and compliant with codes.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and plans; estimate materials, time, and labor; maintain accurate records of completed work.
- Support other trades, assist with projects and events, and respond to emergency or disaster-related plumbing needs.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned for the position.
- Work schedule is from Monday - Friday, 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM, with hours varying depending on the vacancy. May also be required to work overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Serves as Disaster Response Worker and may be called to work while off duty.
- Work involves exposure to outdoor elements, sewer gases, unsanitary conditions, confined spaces, and other conditions typical of the plumbing trade.
- Heavy lifting, carrying, and physical labor in outdoor environments.
- Department of Facility Maintenance position requires unescorted access to the Joint Traffic Management Center (JTMC); this position is subject to a fingerprint-based national criminal history record check and clearance.
