The Denver District Attorney’s Office is seeking an experienced criminal attorney to direct our Conviction Review Unit (CRU).
The DA’s Conviction Review Unit (CRU) reviews the following kinds of cases:
- Actual innocence. The CRU reviews cases for plausible claims of actual innocence
- Resentencing Cases Subject to C.R.S.
- 18-1.3-411, including petitions filed with the court and defendants’ requests for prosecutor-initiated resentencing
- Clemency Petitions and Special Needs Parole Requests. Recommendations are made to the governor’s office on clemency petitions and special needs parole requests.

- Education: Doctor of Jurisprudence Degree or Bachelor of Laws Degree
- Experience: Ten (10) years of experience as an attorney at law in criminal experience, including experience as a prosecutor
- Education/Experience Equivalency: No substitution of experience for education is permitted
- License/Certifications: Possession of a license to practice law in Colorado from the Colorado Supreme Court at the time of application
