Job Description

Come join us in serving the amazing mountain communities in the heart of the Colorado Rockies. Our offices are located in Eagle, Summit, Clear Creek and Lake Counties providing access to world class skiing, mountain biking, rafting, kayaking, fly fishing, amazing scenery, and a healthy lifestyle with close proximity to Denver. Employees have the option to work a 4 x 10-hour schedule – that’s more time to ski, fish, hike, raft, and camp. Attorneys also receive a complimentary EPIC ski pass for skiing at all Vail Resort mountains including Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone, Crested Butte and many others across the U.S.

Locations

Mountain communities of Breckenridge, Georgetown, Eagle, and Leadville, Colorado with access to the Vail-Eagle County airport, Denver International Airport and Denver cultural attractions and sporting events.

Mission & Office

Our mission is to fairly and equitably uphold and enforce the laws of the State of Colorado and to seek justice in all cases. The office has a staff of 35 employees including attorneys, investigators and support personnel, who are all passionate about upholding the rights of victims and defendants, while keeping our mountain communities safe and healthy.

We are dedicated to focusing on work-life balance, on-going classroom and practical training, mentoring, and community engagement. Attorneys are encouraged to attend continuing legal education (CLEs) both in Colorado and across the country. We are looking to enhance our prosecutors’ professional development, and to help them establish expertise in specialized areas of criminal law.

Our “Intern to Deputy DA Pipeline” is a program available for 3L law students. 3Ls get to intern between taking the bar exam and receiving their results, gaining incredibly valuable experience by working on the exact caseload they’ll be assigned upon passing the bar exam. Interns roll seamlessly into DDA positions so they can hit the ground running.
