Communications Coordinator

Through education and advocacy, Citizens Project promotes a vibrant local democracy and works to create a community where diversity, equity, individual freedoms, and the separation of church and state are embraced. We operate with a small staff and are looking for a well-rounded individual to coordinate communications for our team. This is a great position for someone who thrives in a collaborative work environment, has strong communication skills, and has a passion for our organization’s mission. Preferred start date: around February 1, 2026 (flexible). There is potential for this position to become full-time later in the year.

Responsibilities

• Prepare compelling content for social media, newsletters, website, and other public communications
• Manage social media channels
• Monitor media and public perception
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure effective use of our communication tools
• Coordinate with executive director to track progress toward strategic goals

Qualifications

• One year experience in communications or marketing
• Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills
• Familiarity with social media, email marketing, and content creation tools
• Degree in communications, marketing, or related field is preferred, but not required
