We are hiring 1 DSP for full time Monday through Friday 2 pm - 10 pm. Starting wage is $18/hr but with experience that will be higher. Job Summary
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals with developmental differences and other special needs. This position involves providing compassionate care, support, and assistance to clients in various settings, including home health, assisted living, and memory care environments. The DSP is responsible for fostering independence while ensuring the safety and well-being of members.
Duties
- Assist members with daily living activities such as meal preparation, personal hygiene, and medication administration.
- Provide support in developing life skills and promoting independence among individuals with developmental differences.
- Monitor and observe member behavior, reporting any changes or concerns to appropriate personnel.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of member information.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including nurses, to implement care plans effectively.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance skills related to member care.
- Engage members in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and emotional well-being.
Qualifications
- Experience working with individuals with developmental differences is highly desirable but not necessary.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure member privacy is maintained.
- Previous experience in home health or assisted living settings is advantageous.
- Skills in medication administration and member observation are preferred.
- Ability to prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs.
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to caregiving are essential.
