Citizens Memorial Hospital (CMH) is recruiting a Medical Lab Technologist for the lab at our main hospital in Bolivar. CMH is made up of 34 primary and specialty clinics, 6 long-term care facilities and 1 residential care facility. Offering acute care, emergency services, ambulatory care, pharmacies, walk-in clinics, surgeries, addiction recovery, rehab therapies and more, CMH has its community covered!
About the department: The main hospital Laboratory Department offers a fast-paced work environment that is staffed 24/7 to provide diagnostic laboratory services as requested by attending physicians and providers. You’ll work as a member of a team and have opportunities to grow as each team member is expected to help in all areas of the lab, including chemistry, hematology, and serology.
A typical day includes: Performing laboratory functions, specimen testing, and quality control as per policy and procedures utilizing equipment, supplies, and procedures appropriate to the ages of the patients served for all subsequent duties.
- Receives written requisitions from physicians for laboratory tests
- Obtains laboratory specimens using established laboratory techniques
- Calibrates, maintains, and operates equipment necessary to perform tests
- Reports tests to areas designated in a timely manner
- Performs daily surveillance of test results, work records, and quality control in the department under supervision
This Position Is: Full-time working 10:00am-8:30pm and weekend rotation.
Job Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's or Associate's Degree with applicable experience to obtain ASCP or AMT certification
- Experience: 1 year of experience required
- Skills: Attention to detail, problem-solving, teamwork
- Licensure/Certification: ASCP or AMT license/certification required
- Physical: Prolonged periods of sitting and standing; ability to lift and move up to 25 lbs. on an infrequent basis
