What are the responsibilities and job description for the Credentialing Specialist position at Citizens Memorial?
Citizens Memorial Hospital (CMH) is recruiting a Credentialing Specialist to join the Medical Staff Services Department.
Medical Staff Services is responsible for completing primary source verification and presenting all files for approval for all new and re-appointments annually for the more than 300 providers on the CMH Medical Staff.
A typical day will include: Ensure, in a timely manner, that all physicians and other medical staff meet the requirements necessary to obtain and maintain medical staff membership and/or privileges at hospital facilities, clinics and/or managed care network participation; demonstrates skills in attention to detail, organizational skills, computer skills, multi-tasking abilities, analytical skills and decision making; able to communicate effectively with all levels of leadership, physicians and providers with courtesy; self-starter; works without constant supervision while following set procedures; ability to remain calm in pressure situations and handle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously; flexible and able to cope with interruptions; works as member of a team; actively and consistently contributes to the department operations and communications; behaves in a manner consistent with the mission and objectives of CMH and performs other duties as requested.
The position is: Full-time Days 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Job Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in health care related field or nursing degree
- Experience: 3 years experience preferred in a related healthcare background
