What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cart Driver (PT) position at Citizens Medical Center?
JOB SUMMARY
The Cart Driver will be responsible for providing transportation for patients, visitors and employees to and from the hospital and medical office buildings on the Citizens Medical Center campus. The Cart Driver may be required to deliver supplies, records and other material/information as deemed necessary. The Cart Driver will keep records of cart assists.
Job Specific:
- Transports patients and visitors in the hospital cart to various medical office buildings and the hospital campus as needed. (EF)
- Transports materials, supplies and sealed medical information within the campus as needed. (EF)
- Demonstrates a friendly, yet professional, demeanor toward customers being transported. (EF)
- Records transportation assignments/deliveries on a daily basis. (EF)
- Responsible for reporting cart deficiencies to the appropriate personnel to keep the cart in a safe and operational manner; will keep the cart clean.
- May need to assist with providing wheelchair assistance/walk assist for patients, visitors and staff as needed.
Hospital:
- Adheres to organization-wide and other applicable policies and procedures.
- Day-to-day performance complies with the hospital’s Service Excellence Behavioral Expectations.
- Performs within the prescribed limits of the hospital’s Ethics, Compliance and Confidentiality Program guidelines.
- Performs within his/her professional Scope of Practice at all times.

Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma
- Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle; good driving record; Good customer service skills
- Registered driver's license
