Mortgage Loan Closer

Summary of Job Responsibilities:

The mortgage closer will be responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate closing of mortgage loans in accordance with company policies, investor guidelines, and regulatory requirements.

Essential Job Duties:

1. Review loan approval and conditions to prepare for loan closing
2. Coordinate with loan officers, processors, underwriters, and title companies to ensure all closing requirements are met
3. Prepare closing documents accurately and in accordance with regulatory standards
4. Verify loan documentation for completeness and accuracy
5. Coordinate the scheduling of loan closings with borrowers, sellers, and settlement agents.
6. Conduct final review of closing documents to ensure compliance with loan approval and regulatory requirements
7. Ensure timely funding and disbursement of loan proceeds
8. Resolve any issues or discrepancies identified during the closing process
9. Maintain confidentiality and security of all borrower information and loan documentation.

Skills and Abilities Required:

1. Ability to operate a personal computer (using various software), typewriter, calculator, scanner, mortgage loan origination system, copier, fax, and other office equipment.
2. Ability to speak, read, and write English, enunciate clearly, and perform complex loan calculations.
3. Mental/visual skills necessary to effectively and efficiently monitor personal computer and loan processor input.
4. The ability necessary to gather data from several sources, prepare loan files and documents and positively represent the Bank during such contacts.
5. Ability to maintain confidentiality of customer information, employee information and any Citizens Bank business practices, processes and procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

1. A high school diploma or equivalent
2. Minimum of 3 years' experience as a mortgage closer
3. Thorough knowledge of mortgage loan closing procedures, documentation, and compliance requirements
4. Strong attention to detail and ability to review complex documents accurately
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
6. Proficiency in mortgage origination software, experience with Encompass a plus
7. Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
