Freight DispatcherThe Freight Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating freight movements, communicating with drivers, monitoring shipment progress, and ensuring timely and accurate delivery of loads. This role plays a critical part in daily trucking operations and requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work early morning shifts.Key ResponsibilitiesDispatch freight to drivers and provide clear load instructionsEnter, update, and maintain shipment information in the Transportation Management System (TMS)Track and monitor freight movement to ensure on-time pickup and deliveryContact drivers by phone to confirm load status, locations, and ETAsTrack trailers and equipment, and generate tracking and status reportsEmail freight status and delivery reports to customers using TMS-generated dataProvide customer service support to shippers and receivers via phone and emailRespond promptly to emails and operational inquiriesIdentify and communicate delays, issues, or exceptions to customers and internal teamsSupport daily freight operations to ensure smooth and efficient transportation flowSkills & QualificationsExperience in freight dispatch, trucking, or logistics preferredFamiliarity with TMS systems and freight tracking tools is a plusStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environmentHigh attention to detail and accuracy in data entryReliable and punctual with the ability to work early morning shifts
