Responsibilities
- Safely operate a range of trucks including front loader, rear loader, roll-off, dump trucks, flatbeds, and tractor-trailers with manual transmissions.
- Load and unload cargo efficiently using appropriate equipment and techniques, ensuring secure placement for transit.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to identify maintenance needs or safety issues.
- Manage heavy lifting tasks safely when handling cargo or equipment during loading and unloading processes.
- Follow all traffic laws, company policies, and safety procedures to ensure safe driving practices at all times.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and vehicle records for compliance purposes.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and team members to coordinate deliveries and address any logistical challenges promptly.
Experience
- Proven experience as a commercial driver with a valid CDL license.
- Familiarity with operating various trucks such as front loader, rear loader, roll-off, dump trucks, flatbeds, and tractor-trailers.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of truck systems and basic vehicle maintenance.
- Experience in heavy lifting and load securing techniques.
- Prior delivery driver experience with a focus on safety, efficiency, and customer service.
- Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles confidently over long distances or urban routes.
- Knowledge of load & unload procedures for different types of cargo in diverse truck configurations.
