Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailers, adhering to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards.
- Transport agricultural commodities using hopper bottom trailer's.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety, compliance with proper functioning of all truck systems.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery documentation, and cargo manifests in accordance with FMCSA regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding delivery schedules, or any issues encountered during transit.
Skills
- Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record; experience operating tractor-trailers with manual transmission.
- Experience with Hopper Bottom trailers preferred but will train the right candidate.
- Ability to drive safely over long distances on diverse routes while maintaining compliance with DOT regulations.
