Essential Job Functions
- Responsible for overseeing warehousing, shipping, receiving, and handling of materials; supervise transport of materials; manage day-to-day operations of warehouse.
- Establishes operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling, and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current.
- Manages and ensures ITAR and other international customer requirement compliance related to processing, shipping, and receiving of materials.
- Identifies and implements best practices to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency of operations.
- Inspects and monitors the physical condition of warehouse and equipment, maintaining a safe, efficient, and professionally appearing work environment.
- Prepares work orders/requisitions and financial justifications for repair or replacement of equipment and facility.
- Leads to continuous improvement of activities relating to the warehouse and operations.
- Confers with department heads to ensure coordination of warehouse activities with activities of other functions such as production, sales, records control, and purchasing.
- Supervises the disposal/recycling of items beyond economical repair (BER) IAW DoD, FAR, and local regulations.
- Develops and maintains warehouse safety procedures.
- Implements and maintains cycle counts to ensure that a complete inventory count is executed by the end of the year.
- Collects pertinent data concerning administrative and technical procedures for supply management.
- Anticipates problems and works to proactively mitigate them.
- Ensures tasks are completed within estimated time frames and budget constraints.
- Provides daily supervision and direction to staff, schedules and assigns duties as appropriate.
- Responsible for complying with all safety and health regulations – DoD security protocols, OSHA and all applicable local safety standards, reporting & record keeping.
- Travel may be required.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Some college or completed four-year degree
- More than five (5) years or related experience.
- Experience in scheduling shifts, approving time-off, and personnel management.
- Experience in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- 3 years of experience managing warehousing and logistics operations in an aviation-related work environment.
- This position does has supervisory responsibilities over the Warehouse and Employees.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Effective decision-making skills.
- Strong negotiating skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills to effectively interact with all levels of staff from different departments effectively.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills to prioritize workload according to business demands and works well under pressure.
