Area Manager

Core Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience).
• 8–10 years of experience in heavy manufacturing or industrial operations.
• 5 years of leadership experience in a unionized environment.
• Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems.

Preferred Requirements:

• Experience in metals, mills, steel, or other heavy industrial environments.
• Background in reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) and predictive maintenance strategies.

The successful candidate will lead all electrical maintenance activities within a high-volume industrial operation. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, reliable, and cost-effective maintenance execution while minimizing downtime and supporting production performance. The Area Manager provides leadership across maintenance teams, drives equipment reliability, and partners cross-functionally to improve operational efficiency in a complex, unionized environment.

Responsibilities:

• Lead all electrical maintenance activities, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation of critical equipment and systems.
• Drive maintenance planning, scheduling, and execution to minimize downtime and support production requirements.
• Develop and lead maintenance teams, including supervisors and technicians, while managing performance and labor relations.
• Manage maintenance budgets, resource allocation, and cost control initiatives to improve operational efficiency.
• Plan and execute outages, shutdowns, and capital maintenance projects in coordination with engineering and operations.
