What are the responsibilities and job description for the Information and Support Clerk G-12 position at Circuit Court for Prince George's County?
- Answers inquiries of litigants and attorneys about family law matters virtually and in person. DOES NOT GIVE LEGAL ADVICE.
- Serves as the initial point of contact for parties and counsel to provide case status and general procedural guidance, both virtually and in person.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with co-workers and the general public.
- Informs litigants of the Self-Represented Litigant Orientations for divorce and child support proceedings and assists them with registration.
- Interacts with Judges, Magistrates, public officials, attorneys, litigants, co-workers, and the general public.
- Provides Family Division forms upon request; ensures they are up to date and available for distribution.
- Assists and appropriately screens litigants, attorneys, and other court staff when requesting virtual and in-person access to Family Division offices.
- Maintains materials for public distribution on family law issues and community-related services.
- Provides litigants with case status and general procedural guidance.
- Emails the Zoom link and required court forms to litigants and attorneys for scheduled hearings, as necessary.
- Delivers outgoing mail; picks up and disburses incoming mail to appropriate staff members.
- Serves as a liaison between the magistrates' courtroom and the public while the court is in session.
- Maintains and reports monthly statistics regarding the number of individuals served.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Must be able to work independently and make sound judgments.
- Must be able to demonstrate a high level of professionalism with Judges, Magistrates, court personnel, public officials, and employees from other justice partners.
- Must be able to interact and communicate with individuals of diverse backgrounds.
- Knowledge of applicable computerized information systems.
- Knowledge of standard formats for data entry and preparation of information.
- Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment.
- Ability to maintain records and files to prepare accurate and concise reports.
This is a full-time, 100% grant-funded position.
