We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care for animals in our facility. You will ensure a clean, safe, and nurturing environment for pets while assisting with their daily needs. Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding and exercising.
- Maintain cleanliness of the kennel area, including cleaning rooms and common spaces.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to management..
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with owners.
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed to maintain a safe environment for both animals and staff.
Requirements
- Must be able to work any shift weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to work most weekdays.
- Previous experience in pet care or animal handling is preferred.
- Strong customer service skills to effectively interact with pet owners.
- Knowledge of animal behavior and handling techniques, including animal restraint methods.
- Ability to work well in a team environment while also being self-motivated.
- Physical stamina to handle the demands of the job, including a lot of walking, lifting and moving animals when necessary.
- A genuine love for animals and a commitment to their welfare.
