An Engineer III may work on several tasks or projects at a time. Tasks performed require intermediate knowledge of fundamentals relating to design and/or construction with some supervision needed. An Engineer III may be asked to assist in developing preliminary engineering studies and reports and to take the lead on related tasks, preparing design plans and specifications, or serve as a construction inspector. An Engineer III may also be assigned to the field to assist in performing topographic surveys.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in plan preparation, design and quantity calculations, and other related tasks for transportation related structural projects
- Assist with bridge inspections
- The selected candidate will collaborate with other engineers and technicians under the supervision of a Structural Project Engineer
- Work closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from accredited school. Masters preferred
- 5-8 years of experience
- IL or IN Professional Engineer license (PE); SE a plus
- Good technical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment on multi-disciplinary projects
- MicroStation proficiency
- Working knowledge of structural analysis software
- GeoPak experience a plus
- Experience preparing plans for Illinois DOT and/or Illinois Tollway projects
- Bridge inspection experience, including 80-hour NHI course, preferred
Salary : $95,000 - $106,000
