We are looking for a CAD Technician to join our team in Chicago or Peoria, IL. You will work alongside experienced engineers and senior technicians on various infrastructure projects, producing and maintaining technical drawings central to our project delivery. Responsibilities:
• Responsible for understanding the work assigned to them or asking their supervisor to clarify
the assignment.
• Prepare drawings using Bentley MicroStation.
• Follow established CAD standards and drafting conventions.
• Coordinate with engineers to ensure accuracy and completeness of drawings.
• Revise drawings based on engineer and client feedback.
• Collaborate with other technicians and engineers on project teams.
• Assist or work independently on plan preparation.
• Understand and manage various DOT or other agency specifications and standards.
• With training, become proficient in 3D modeling, including renderings.
• May work overtime as directed by supervisor on an as-needed basis.
• Other duties may be assigned, both temporary and permanent.
Required Qualifications:
• Associate’s degree or Technician Certification in Civil/Structural Engineering Technology, Drafting, or a related field — or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Understanding of basic drafting principles and conventions.
• Bentley MicroStation and/or AutoCAD knowledge.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to drawing accuracy.
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a project team.
• Eagerness to learn and grow in a professional engineering setting.
• 0–2 years of relevant experience; prior exposure to bridge or infrastructure drawings is an asset, not a requirement.
Salary : $50,000 - $65,000
