Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance Manager to lead our quality and metallurgy departments across our Fontana and Chino plants. In this pivotal role, you will be the driving force behind the integrity of our products, ensuring that our manufacturing processes consistently meet and exceed customer specifications and industry standards. Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead Quality Operations: Plan, direct, and coordinate the activities of our quality and metallurgy teams, ensuring the overall integrity of products manufactured at our facilities.
- Drive Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for enhancement, draft annual departmental objectives to improve safety and operational efficiency, and set targets for cost reduction.
- Ensure Compliance and Consistency: Develop and monitor production, inspection, and casting processes to meet customer requirements and industry technical specifications, utilizing statistical process control and metallurgical testing.
- Manage Supplier and Equipment Quality: Oversee the qualification and performance monitoring of smelting, casting, and homogenizing equipment, as well as raw materials and key suppliers.
- Champion Customer Satisfaction: Act as the primary technical contact for customer contract reviews, respond to customer claims, and provide expert technical support to ensure complete satisfaction.
Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Metallurgical, Materials, Mechanical, or a related field.
- At least 2-5 years of experience in aluminum casting processes or management-level metallurgy.
- Proven experience with the latest ISO Standards for quality management systems and proficiency in problem-solving techniques, including root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action.
- Experience with Ultrasonic Testing (AMS-STD-2154), OES Spectrometry (ASTM E1251-17a), Lean Manufacturing, 5S principles, and a Six Sigma Green Belt are highly desirable.
