Position:
· 10-month contract (mid-August – early-June)
o Additional summer hours available through CCDSummer Camp
· Hours based on program needs (30 – 40 hours per week)
o Additional hours may be available through our Extended Day programs
· Salary commensurate with that of a teacher assistant
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required (degree in early childhood education preferred)
· Meets qualifications for licensure in Ohio or educational aide certification
· Proven ability to work with young children (minimum 3 years teaching experience preferred)
· Perform essential functions of the position which include the ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, balance, and lift up to 25 pounds
· Commitment to the school’s virtues, mission, and professional standards
· Strong classroom management skills
· Clear understanding of high-quality teaching and learning
· Excellent written and oral communication skills
· Willingness to be a visible and involved participant in and supporter of the school community
· Skill and comfort working collaboratively and productively with all constituencies within the school community
· Experience collaborating with colleagues around lesson development, classroom management, student assessment, and differentiation
· Certifications in: First Aid, CPR, Communicable Disease, Child Abuse, and the ODE Orientation Training for Preschool and School Age Child Care (SACC) Staff Members
