We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Preschool Lead Teacher to inspire young learners and foster a nurturing, engaging classroom environment. As a key leader in early childhood education, you will design and implement developmentally appropriate curricula, promote social-emotional growth, and ensure each child's individual needs are met with care and professionalism. Your enthusiasm for early childhood development will help create a positive foundation for lifelong learning and curiosity. This is a full-time position with consistent house, Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including literacy, math, physical education, and Montessori methods.
- Create a clean, warm, and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages exploration, creativity, and social interaction among children.
- Manage daily classroom activities, ensuring smooth transitions and effective behavior management strategies to support positive conduct.
- Collaborate with families to communicate children's progress, address concerns, and foster strong home-school connections.
- Incorporate special education techniques and early intervention strategies to support children with diverse learning needs.
- Maintain accurate records of children's developmental milestones, attendance, and assessments, including standardized testing where applicable.
- Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and support staff to uphold high-quality childcare standards.
- Complete all required training certificates within 60-day period
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings, with a minimum of one year in early childhood education.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain within 60-days of hiring date
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, classroom management techniques, and behavior management strategies.
- Experience with Ohio's Step-Up to Quality (SUTQ) Program
- Familiarity with play-based or inquiry-based learning approaches
- Familiarity with curriculum development, lesson planning, and literacy education
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, families, and team members.
- High School Diploma, GED, Certification in early childhood education or equivalent credentials; additional training in special education or toddler care is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to manage classroom dynamics while fostering a safe and stimulating environment.
