Cimarron is seeking a Storage Solutions Engineer to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract at Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado.
Key Duties
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot storage solutions, servers (Linux or Windows), workstations, and peripherals in a virtualized environment.
- Monitor and optimize system performance through analysis, tuning, and use of optimization techniques.
- Identify and resolve performance issues using system logs, event logs, and diagnostic tools.
- Support integration managers by assisting with problem definition and root cause analysis.
- Provide regular updates to team leads, managers, and stakeholders regarding task status and troubleshooting progress.
- Conduct storage capacity planning and forecasting to support future growth and business needs.
- Recommend and execute work plans aligned with project timelines and critical-path requirements.
- Coordinate with storage and server hardware/software vendors to resolve technical issues.
- Collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and customers to support system operations.
- Maintain procedures for the secure and timely delivery of backup materials to recovery sites.
- Log, track, and document issues and resolutions using the REMEDY ticketing system.
Required Skills, Experience, and Education :

- This position requires access to federal facilities. Candidates must possess a valid, unexpired Real ID-compliant driver's license or state-issued identification card at the time of hire. - Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.
- 7 or more years of hands-on experience in IT systems, including installing, configuring, and troubleshooting operating systems and virtual machines.
- 1 or more years of experience in a management or leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of storage technologies such as SAN, NAS, cloud storage, and backup solutions.
- Familiarity with storage management tools (e.g., 3PAR, Nimble, NetApp, EMC, Dell, IBM).
- Experience working with storage protocols including iSCSI, FC, NFS, and SMB.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex storage-related issues and apply effective problem-solving techniques.
- Experience building, configuring, and deploying systems using VMware.
- Proficiency in administering RHEL 7 and 8 using the Command Line Interface.
- Must hold a current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security CE).
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with NetApp and/or Veeam storage solutions.
- Knowledge of Missile Defense, DoD communication systems, and MDIOC operations.
- Familiarity with HPE Alletra 5000, 6000, and 9000 series storage solutions.
- Degree in an IT or Engineering-related discipline.
