Duties
- Prepare and dispense medications accurately under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, including IV infusions and aseptic preparations.
- Manage medication inventory, ensuring proper stock levels and storage conditions for LTC and hospital environments.
- Assist with patient intake procedures by verifying prescriptions, reviewing medical records, and clarifying medication orders.
- Provide exceptional patient service by answering medication-related questions and supporting medication administration processes.
- Maintain meticulous records of medication dispensing, inventory logs, and patient interactions to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Support critical care teams by understanding complex medical terminology and assisting with acute care medication protocols.
- Follow all aseptic techniques during sterile compounding to prevent contamination and ensure patient safety.
Skills
- Proven pharmacy technician experience with a strong background in LTC pharmacy, hospital, or acute care settings.
- Critical care experience is highly desirable for supporting complex medication regimens.
- Excellent knowledge of medical terminology relevant to pharmacy practice and patient care.
- Skilled in IV infusion preparation and aseptic technique to maintain sterile environments.
