Church of the Highlands is looking for a ministry-focused, Christ-centered Accountant to join the Accounting Team at the Central Offices located at the Grandview Campus. Experience and Knowledge Required:
- A follower of Jesus Christ.
- Called to work in full-time ministry.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, including financial transaction. review and general accounting processes.
- Intermediate computer skills and the ability to learn and adapt to new financial systems and software.
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to exercise discretion and maintain strict confidentiality when handling financial information.
- Prior experience reviewing or overseeing financial transactions or supporting junior staff preferred.
- Experience with Sage Intacct and Ramp financial systems preferred.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Oversee the review and analysis of financial transactions to ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
- Supervise and support the Accountant team responsible for reviewing department-level financial activity.
- Review financial transactions for assigned departments and escalate issues when necessary.
- Collaborate with departments and campuses to educate and resource team on accounting policies and procedures.
- Assist in counting and processing weekly offerings.
- Support the implementation of financial accounting policies and procedures.
This position is Monday through Friday and located at the Grandview Campus in Birmingham.
