The Order Clerk is responsible for placement of inventory stock replacement item orders as dictated by the work management system’s purchase advisory reports and as coordinated with the department supervisor.

Essential Duties & Job Functions:
- Receives written or verbal purchase orders.
- Obtains quotes for requested inventory items.
- Determines availability of ordered items, suggesting substitutes when necessary
- Advises staff of expected delivery date and method of delivery of orders.
- Records orders and customer information on order sheets.
- Reviews order sheets for accuracy and adequacy of information.
- Furnishes the customer with confirmation of receipt of the order.
- Conducts order follow-up and informs the customer of any delivery delays.
- Maintains order files.
- Verifies shipping invoices against original orders.
- Interfaces with customers, suppliers, or company employees outside the immediate work area on a regular basis to give or exchange information.
- Sorts, delivers, and picks up mail, files, and/or other documents for designated areas.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Accountable For:
- Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional and courteous manner in diversified situations.
- Ability to perform assigned work tasks without direct supervision.
Mandatory:
- High School graduate or equivalent.

One (1) year procurement (purchasing) experience.
- Experience with work management systems, such as Maximo, MINCOM and SAP.
- Intermediate skills in MS Office Suite; specifically, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
- Possess a valid Driver’s License with a suitable driving record.
- Ability to obtain access to U.S. Government Installations through the Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS).
Working Conditions:
- Work is typically sedentary in nature and performed in an office setting.
Physical Requirements:
- Should be able to sit for extended periods of time, stand, walk, talk, hear, and write.
- Have the ability to use limbs and body members with a good range of motion.
- Occasional lifting, handling, or moving of objects without assistance, weighing up to 35 pounds, may be required.
